Didactoon’s apps has been subject of study in a scientific research done by the Universidad de Alcalá de Henares.
In this study, directed by doctoral student María Rosario Rodríguez Cubillo, María Rosario Rodríguez Cubillo, the objective was to research the relation between the use of mathematical applications and the performance of mathematical calculation in primary students.
For this, research has been carried out in four public primary education schools with more than 500 students between 6 and 11 years old.
The students used 4 educational apps from Didactoons (Monster Numbers, Dino Tim, MathLand and Math Battles). All apps were installed in their individual tablets and used during the last 15 minutes of their mathematics lessons, three times a week and its academic achievement has been evaluated through the EVAMAT test battery.
The EVAMAT tests are a tool for the mathematical competence test (García, García y González, 2011).
The provisional results obtained, which are in the process of being published in a scientific journal, indicate that the relation between the use of mathematical applications and the performance of mathematical calculation in primary students is SIGNIFICANT. The students that used educational applications had a HIGHER SCORE in the results.
